prompt: from Krista Marie Darling’s prompt, which asks poets to find what’s buried in the language of a particular piece of writing. i’ve always wanted to use Hemingway – especially this story – and this seemed like a good opportunity. these are all the actions (that aren’t verbal) taken by “the girl” in “Hills Like White Elephants.”
source: Hemingway, Ernest. The Short Stories. New York: MacMillan Publishing Company, 1966 (etc). 273-278. Print.
